The Brunswick Town/ Fort Anderson Phase 2 project was presented a 2019 Engineering Excellence Award (EEA) by the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina. The EEA competition recognizes engineering firms for projects that demonstrate an exceptional degree of innovation, complexity, achievement and value. North State Environmental is proud to have been the construction partner for this award-winning project.
Presented by the National Contractors Insurance Program for superior performance in risk control efforts as demonstrated by effective safety programs, favorable claims experience and experience in risk control workshops and other loss prevention activities. This award is presented to the top 25% of members within the captive.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Environment and Conservation Commissioner Bob Martineau presented the 2013 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Awards at Lipscomb University’s Shamblin Theatre in Nashville. The Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Awards program recognizes exceptional voluntary actions that improve or protect our environment and natural resources with projects or initiatives not required by law or regulation. North State Environmental is proud to have been the construction partner for this award winning project.
Ten thousand trees planted. Six thousand feet of improved streambank. Nine hundred tons of sediment kept out of the water. These actions and results have improved the water quality, aesthetic and recreational value of the Illinois River and earned the Oklahoma Conservation Commission an Environmental Excellence award from Keep Oklahoma Beautiful. The award was presented Tuesday November 19, at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum as Keep Oklahoma Beautiful recognized local, state, and tribal governments, as well as nonprofit and community groups for their efforts to protect Oklahoma’s environment. The Commission was recognized for its 2012 project to restore over 6,000 feet of eroding streambanks along the river and its tributaries. The project used natural channel design and planted trees in the riparian areas of 11 sites in the Illinois River watershed. Streambanks along both public and private property were restored and over a year later all sites are performing as expected. The estimated amount of sediment kept out of streams and the river as a result of the project is estimated at 900 tons.
The American Council of Engineering Companies presented the LEO Award to North State Environmental, Inc. The purpose of this program is to recognize ACEC/NC member company clients who have exemplary relationships with the member firm and whose actions are supportive of the ideals and needs of the consulting engineering profession, including ACEC’s Guide to Qualifications-Based Selection of Design Professionals. The North Carolina Wildlife Federation in Cooperation with The National Wildlife Federation presented to North State Environmental, Inc. the Governors Award as Business Conservationist of the Year 2009. As quoted from the North Carolina Wildlife Federation website: “Each year the North Carolina Wildlife Federation presents the prestigious Governor’s Conservation Achievement Awards, an effort to honor individuals, governmental bodies, organizations, and others who have exhibited an unwavering commitment to conservation in North Carolina. These are the highest natural resource honors given in the state. By recognizing, publicizing, and honoring these conservation leaders—young and old, professional and volunteer—the North Carolina Wildlife Federation hopes to inspire all North Carolinians to take a more active role in protecting the natural resources of our state.”

Darrell and Stephanie Westmoreland of North State Environmental, Inc. were named Finalists for the Equipment World’s Contractor of the Year Award. As quoted from the Equipment World website: “The Contractor of the Year program was created to recognize contractors who have average annual revenues of between $3 million and $15 million for the past three years and who exemplify the highest standards of construction professionals: business acumen, equipment management expertise, attention to safety and community involvement.”
The Soil and Water Conservation Society presented the Industrial Award to North State Environmental, Inc. “In recognition of your outstanding efforts and achievements toward the goals of the chapter.”
