Completed in 2014, the Chuck Lewis Restoration Project in Steamboat Springs, Colorado will forever more be a better place for all aquatic and terrestrial habitat. Thus, being induced by the instream revetments that were installed during the restoration project. For example, Toe Wood was installed to assist with the revitalization of the once heavily eroded streambank that in places was laced with old vehicles. Cross channel grade control structures were also installed to maintain diversity within the streambed profile which in turn has become a highly popular fishing location. Funded by Colorado Game & Fish and the Yampa River Charitable Trust, this project on the Yampa River has proven to be a fisherman’s paradise.
