General Description
Operate a variety of equipment utilized in the construction, maintenance and repair of stream restoration and other large site jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in stream restoration or site preparation
- Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Project Manager, Safety Director or Human Resource Manager as needed
- Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in equipment training.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repair to supervisor; clean equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements
Considerable knowledge of heavy equipment operating principles. Ability to drive and operate the equipment under varying working conditions
Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in stream restoration and site preparation
Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations
Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions
Ability to work from construction specifications or project plans
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
