Job Description-Stream Restoration Laborer

General Description

Perform task involving physical labor at stream restoration projects.  May operate a variety of hand and power tools.  May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, install fencing, matting or seeding, clean up the job site and remove waste materials.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of task involving strenuous manual labor in streams restoration and erosion control projects
  • Material handling and storage
  • Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials
  • Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tolls and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements

Some knowledge or proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in stream restoration/erosion control work.

Ability to work independently or on a team and complete daily activities according to work schedule

Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, stand and bend for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions

Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
