Completed in 2016, the East Fork Project on the East Fork of the French Broad River in Brevard, NC was funded by Resource Institute under the Western North Carolina Stream Initiative. The 1,420-linear foot project on private property ended at the confluence of the East Fork and the French Broad River. Instream structures were installed using native woody material and imported boulders to ensure the design criteria was accomplished & maintained. The goal of the project was to restore the channel to create a more defined channel with deeper pools for biological diversity and sediment transport.
