STEPHANIE C. WESTMORELAND, President
Stephanie received a degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has been President of the company since its inception in 1994. Her responsibilities include researching and preparing bids, Human Resource issues related to EEO and Affirmative Action policies, managing insurance and payroll, overseeing billing and all other office operations.
DARRELL T. WESTMORELAND,
Project Manager/Vice President
Darrell was instrumental in establishing the company in 1994 and has been a driving force behind its success and outstanding reputation. A 1991 graduate of North Carolina State University, he holds a degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering with an Environmental Concentration. His education includes multiple post graduate courses in stream restoration and wetlands mitigation.
In his ten years of business experience and project management in the field of erosion control, Darrell has received recognition for his competency and timely completion of multiple stream restoration projects for state, federal and private organizations. As an experienced and highly successful construction manager, he is responsible for all field operations, stream restoration and wetlands mitigation projects, job estimating, equipment scheduling and maintenance and management of all field personnel.
Darrell holds General Contractors in the following states: NC, SC, TN, VA, WV--Soon to be added are GA and AL
STEPHEN C. JOYCE,
Landscaping & Planting Project Manager
Stephen graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Business Marketing, and holds a degree in Horticulture Technology from Forsyth Technical Community College. His education includes training in stream restoration and wetlands mitigation. He is a registered Landscape Contractor, a certified Arborist and North Carolina-licensed Pesticide Applicator.
Having a wealth of landscape management experience, Stephen estimates and manages all landscaping projects, in addition to overseeing the ordering, harvesting and maintenance of wetland plants and grasses.
CHIP JOHNSON,
Estimating and Erosion Control Project Manager
Chip joined North State Environmental, Inc. in the early days of its conception. He has been with the company for over 10 years and has grown from being the first field employee to an important part of the management team. Chip estimates all stream restoration and erosion control projects. He also works to organize the project crews to fulfill the needs of our many clients in a professional and timely manner. Chip has Level II NC DOT Erosion Control certification.
LINDA KING, Office Manager & Contract Management
Linda has a degree in Liberal Arts from University of NC at Greensboro. She is the Office Manager and handles all contracts as well as accounts receivable and general accounting issues. Linda has been with the company for 8 years. She has many years of corporate business experience and has been with North State during its rapid growth.
JENNIFER KING, PHR Human Resources
Jennifer has a BS in Business Administration from the University of NC at Charlotte. She has also earned the Professional in Human Resources certification through the HRCI. Jennifer manages the Human Resources Department including: benefits administration, workers comp, employee records, policy development and implementation, payroll, PTO administration and 401K administration. Jennifer also handles the company’s marketing efforts, travel arrangements, and trade shows.
DEIDRE PARRISH, Accounts Payable & Safety/Regulations
Deidre graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BS in Business Administration just before relocating to the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. During the time she has spent working in the triad, she has gained experience in the legal and staffing/recruiting industries. This experience has sharpened her skills in legal research, technical writing, administration, and project management. At North State Environmental, Inc. she is responsible for all accounts payable, equipment tracking, and the management of many regulated programs such as OSHA, IFTA, IRP, FMCSA fleet management, etc.
BRANDON SPAUGH, Project Manager
Brandon is a Project Foreman and has been with North State Environmental, Inc. for over 4 years. He has completed Rosgen Level I & II training, giving him the ability to facilitate and oversee stream restoration measures on the job site. Brandon is also a highly skilled heavy equipment operator which enables him to build complicated structures that are intricate to stream design. Brandon has been the Project Foreman on numerous sites, completing over 50,000 linear feet of stream restoration.
MIKE STANLEY, Project Manager
Mike is a Project Foreman. He has been with North State Environmental, Inc. for seven years and has over fifteen years of experience with heavy equipment operation. He has completed Level I & II Rosgen training. His past project performance has made him one of our most trusted project foremen. He easily establishes relationships with engineers, subcontractors, and project owners. Mike has completed over 40,000 linear feet of stream restoration.
CHRIS DANCY, Project Manager
Chris has been with North State for over seven years. His experience in heavy equipment operation and grading, made him a great addition to our team. He has completed Rosgen training Levels I and II. Chris has the ability to efficiently manage his crew to make sure all projects are completed to the highest standards and to meet important project deadlines. He has been the Project Manager on jobs that total over 50,000 linear feet of stream restoration.
