Low Boy/CDL A Driver

North State Environmental Inc is seeking Experienced Low Boy Drivers for our team in Winston Salem NC.  

Essential Functions

• Be always a professional and courteous driver. 
• Perform a variety of duties in the operation of North State Environmental, Inc. such as hauling, dumping, and equipment transport to include oversized loads, etc.
• Safely drive various vehicles and operate heavy machinery.
• Plan route to insure most economical use of time and equipment.
• Obtain road construction materials from storage yard and haul them to job site.
• Perform pre-trip daily inspections, preventative maintenance on assigned equipment, refer defects or repairs to mechanics, and clean equipment.
• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
• Maintain radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or to be dispatched to a new location.
• Maintain electronic truck log according to state and federal regulations. Should there be an issue with the electronic log, complete a paper log and inform the proper office staff of the electronic.  
• Keep record of equipment and materials transported.
• Operate equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials.
• Maintain a valid CDL license.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
• Ability to safely drive various vehicles.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
• Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization.
