Completed in early 2017 in Winston Salem, NC for the Parks and Recreation Department, this project was the first step to upgrading the entire Miller Park. The pre-existing stream had been incised by the increase of storm water runoff due to development of the surrounding area. One of the main objectives of this 2,000-linerar foot project was to develop a flood prone area to accommodate the increased storm water flows. Instream structures using both logs and boulders were installed consecutively throughout the project to maintain the newly designed depth of the channel. Native trees and plants were also installed to assist with the re-establishment of the riparian vegetation.
