Constructed in Fall 2018 in conjunction with the Pickett Project that is located approximately 1,250’ downstream, the Oddfellows Enhancement Project’s main objectives was to create more aquatic habitat and establishing a low-flow channel to ensure adequate sediment transport. This natural channel design approach was reached by excavating a defined thalweg in a slight sinuous pattern and placing the material on both sides of the channel creating a low inner berm feature. Onsite boulders and wood was then installed into the low-flow channel to create pool – riffle sequences for bank stability and aquatic organism holding areas.
