Call Creek

Location – West Jefferson, NC
Completed – 2019

The project involved 3,220 feet of stream work along Call Creek. There was also 425 feet of stream work along a tributary to Call Creek. Bankfull benches were constructed to achieve proper stream dimensions, and point bars were excavated. To improve habitat, several in-stream structures were constructed. These structures included j-hooks, cross vanes, rock step pool, single log vane, single rock vane, rock sills, constructed riffles, wood toe with footer rock/ rootwad revetment, and wood toe. Three stream crossings for vehicular use were also constructed. Stream banks were planted with container trees, shrubs and live stakes.
