Encampment River-Pickett Reach
Location – Encampment, Wyoming
Completed – 2018
The Prickett Tract project involved habitat work which included channel realignment alterations to provide a better stream geometry and deeper low flow channel along the habitat (toe wood, rock constructed riffle and rock cross vanes) while maintaining water rights with the construction of a new POD. The earthwork for this project was balanced by constructing a depression and an oxbow wetland. Treatments for the project included: new channel alignment, stream bank stabilization, in-stream structures, floodplain structures, erosion control and revegetation. There is a small irrigation diversion, located at the downstream end of the reach and moved a short distance. Project length on the Pickett Tract was approximately 1,450 feet.
